New Windrush statue unveiled to honour forgotten generation

 

Scores of family members with links to the Windrush generation were also in attendance at the event, with many becoming emotional when they first saw the new statue unveiled. “Their stories have got to live on, people have to be able to tell their children and their grandchildren.

“It’s amazing to have this monument and just shows how blessed we are with our community.”  “Windrush Untold Stories was created to celebrate the contributions and resilience of the Windrush Generation, whose story is central to the fabric of British life.
